Equity in the Center Briefing and Conversation

Join Equity In The Center (EIC) and Northern California Grantmakers for a Bay Area Funder Briefing focused on sustaining race equity in philanthropy. This event is designed for grantmakers, philanthropic intermediaries, and networks with grantmaking members who are navigating today’s evolving—and often challenging—equity landscape.

Seven years after the release of EIC’s landmark publication Awake to Woke to Work®: Building a Race Equity Culture™, organizations across the sector continue to use its Race Equity Cycle® framework to guide meaningful internal change. With over 71,000 downloads, the report has helped shape the way leaders think about and act on race equity in their institutions. But as equity work faces increasing scrutiny and resistance, many leaders find themselves balancing the urgency of their missions with the need to remain steadfast in their commitment to racial equity.

In response to this moment, EIC is evolving its offerings to meet the needs of the field, including:

  • Enhanced cohort programs that deepen peer learning and relationships
  • Intensified coaching tailored to the realities of leadership today
  • Resources to help navigate the complexities of sustaining race equity efforts amidst ongoing crises

During the briefing, EIC will share updates on its next chapter, introduce new and existing program offerings, and highlight ways for funders to engage and support equity-centered leadership within their organizations and networks.

This event is more than a briefing—it’s a chance to connect with a growing community of leaders committed to equity, resilience, and long-term impact.

Lunch will be provided
