Tax Equity Series: Federal Immigration Actions & Tax Equity in California

Immigrants are important members of California’s communities and economy. As national immigration policy continues to evolve, California's diverse population, tax infrastructure, and public benefits systems are and will be deeply impacted. This session will provide an opportunity to get updates on federal administrative action on immigrants and public benefit policy and their intersections with equitable taxation and access to public resources.

We’ll be joined by the California Immigrant Policy Center for an interactive and timely virtual discussion exploring the far-reaching implications of immigration-related policy actions on tax equity across the state.

Discussion Topics will Include:

  • The contributions of immigrant communities and their representation to state and local tax systems
  • The sharing of confidential immigration status with other systems and how immigration status affects access to tax credits, relief programs, and social services
  • Policy strategies and philanthropic opportunities to promote equity for undocumented and mixed-status households
